Why people choose MOMO?
We spent over a year testing different suppliers to find the best matcha we could. Our matcha now comes from small, family-run farms in Uji and Aichi, produced in limited batches with no mass production or middlemen.
Pure, first-harvest ceremonial matcha that we truly believe is among the best available.
The Art of Ultra-Smooth Matcha
Our matcha is ground to an exceptionally fine powder, so you’ll never find grainy pieces or clumps. This ultra-smooth texture makes it remarkably creamy in both water and milk, while its naturally soft, non-bitter flavor creates that rich, velvety experience people love.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is your matcha greener and smoother than other brands?
Because we only use young tea leaves from the first harvest (first flush), stone-ground straight into powder. No blends, no fillers, no shortcuts.
What’s the difference between your matcha and cheaper alternatives?
Most cheap matcha is culinary grade — bitter, dull in color, and often sourced from China. Ours is pure, smooth, and vibrant — crafted for quality and taste, not just price.
What does “ceremonial” actually mean when it comes to matcha?
The word “ceremonial” is often used as a marketing term, especially outside Japan, so we understand that it can feel a bit overused.
In Japan, though, the term does have genuine meaning. “Ceremonial” refers to matcha that is truly suitable for traditional tea ceremonies: bright in color, smooth in texture, rich in umami, and made from the youngest, most delicate tea leaves.
So while the term can be confusing in the West, we use it because it reflects the real standards and traditions followed by the family-run farm in Uji where our matcha is produced.
Where is your matcha from?
Our matcha is sourced from two small, family-run tea farms in Uji and Aichi, Japan. These farms avoid mass production and grow their tea using traditional methods without fillers or shortcuts. The result is pure, ceremonial-grade matcha crafted with genuine care and generations of experience.
What makes your matcha’s price reflect its quality?
We understand we’re not the cheapest, and that’s intentional. We set out to source the best matcha possible without additives to alter the taste, without middlemen, and without cutting corners. By working directly with our farm partners and staying honest with our customers, we ensure exceptional quality at a fair and transparent price.
